As we begin a new school year, I would like to take a moment to thank our custodians, Mr. Michael and Mr. Cheesman for their efforts in cleaning and maintaining our building. It looks great. You will notice several improvements as you walk into the building as well. The Jr. High wing hallway was re-tiled and the bleachers were renovated and upgraded to code using grant and district funds.
I would also like to welcome students from the Tazewell Mason Counties Special Education Association “Satellite” programs. They are two programs that will be housed at Robein that will serve students in Tazewell and Mason Counties with disabilities.
We continue to move forward in regards to curriculum through the implementation of Common Core Standards in English Language Arts and Math. Over the course of the last two years teachers have been working hard to align their classroom instruction and learning activities to these standards. For more information on Common Core Standards please feel free to contact me or look on the Illinois State Board of Education’s website at http://isbe.net/common_core/default.htm .
Have a great school year!
Brad D. Bennett, Superintendent
