Robein PTO Meeting

April 19, 2005

 

President Kathy Polson opened the meeting at 6:30 p.m.  Poleane moved to approve the minutes from the last meeting and Nancy gave the second.  The motion passed.

The Treasurer’s report was given by Rhonda Britton.  Some deposits have been made and others will be made which will change the total.  Jackie moved and Poleane gave the second to approve the treasurer’s report.  All were in favor.

The back to school party at Splashdown was discussed.  It was stated the Splashdown closes August 14 this coming year.  We would have to do the party in July.  Kathy moved that we take the $650 that had been budgeted for this and put it back into the general fund.  Debbie gave the second.  All were in favor.

Ms. Wainwright requested money be paid for her field trip.  This was already budgeted.  Rhonda will write the check tonight and give it to Mrs. Davies who will give it to the teachers.

Terry moved that the PTO spend up to $600 to provide a reception and gifts for the retiring teachers.  This reception will be after the spring concert because a large amount of people will be in attendance.  Rhonda gave the second and all were in favor.  Jackie will be in charge of planning the reception.  Jessica Stewart and Rebecca Mennel will help.

Terry reported on the fundraiser.  She showed a brochure of what the students will be selling next fall.  She wanted to know if the PTO wanted to do magazine sales also, there had been a $300 profit from this last year.  It was decided that the PTO would do that again next fall.

Book Fair report:  There was a $799 profit for the teachers to spend which came to $48.50 per teacher.  Terry will chair this next year.

NEW BUSINESS – Terry wanted to give the teachers money to spend for their class rooms.  $50 per teacher would cost $900.  Terry made the motion to do this and Rebecca gave the second.  The motion passed.

Rebecca reported that she needs volunteers to help with the Old Fashion Day for scooping ice cream sundaes.  Kathy suggested asking some of the older kids like student council etc. to help the little ones.  Other that that Rebecca said everything was going well.

The slate of officers for next year was voted on and approved.

Terry will check on the cost to buy a storage unit for the new die cuts that were purchased.

Kathy moved to adjourn and Julie gave the second.  All were in favor.
