Class Expectations

It was great getting to meet you last week.  I fully expect to have a year that is full of fun and learning.  The best way for us to get the most out of our time together is for you to understand what is expected of you.  On my part, I will work hard to try to make my lessons both fun and educational.  I will also try to clear up any confusion and treat everyone with respect.  I know the beginning of the fifth grade year is very hectic and fast moving at times.  I hope that these expectations will help you to ease the transition into this year.

This year I expect that:

You will treat everyone politely and with respect

You will try your hardest on everything that you do

You will follow the classroom and school rules

You will ask questions if you do not know something or are confused

You will volunteer to answer many questions each and every day because this will help you to stay focused and learn more

You will maintain a positive attitude

You will come to class prepared each period

You will do all of the redo’s that you can

You will have little or no late work throughout the year

You will work to become a responsible person who takes ownership of your own success   (Parents and teachers love to help but ultimately it is up to you)

I realize that I have high expectations for you but after knowing you for only a short while I know that you are up for the challenge.  Remember, everyone makes mistakes but if you learn from them then it will make you a better person.  I look forward to a great year with you.  Please work hard to meet these expectations and we will have a wonderful year.
