April 15, 2010

MINUTES

 

 

 

1.  CALL TO ORDER  - President Norvill called the meeting to order at 6:00 p.m.

 

2.  PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE

Members present: &= nbsp; Mr. Klyber, Mr. Newlan, Mr. Norvill, Mrs. Potts, Ms. Schwader,

and Mrs. Vangunten

Others present:  Channel 22 Representatives; Dr. Marx, Superintendent; and

5.  APPROVAL OF MINUTES=

 

A.&n= bsp;    Approve minutes of the March 18, 2010 regular meeting.

 

Motion by Klyber, seconded = by Schwader to approve the March 18, 2010 minutes of the regular meeting.  Motion carried.

 

B.&n= bsp;    Approv= e the executive session minutes of the Mar. 18, 2010 regular meeting.<= /b>

 

Motion by Vangunten, second= ed by Newlan to approve the executive session minutes of the March 18, 2010 regul= ar meeting.  Motion carried.

Motion by Klyber, seconded = by Potts to approve the Consent Agenda as presented.  On roll

7.  SUPERINTENDENT/PRINCIPAL  REPORT 

 

  1.   We appreciate the support of = our faculty and staff members, parents, grandparents, community members, a= nd students.  We know that y= our support is invaluable.  I= f you have not yet volunteered, the sign-up sheet is located outside of the school office.  We have m= any positions yet to be filled.  Free shuttle bus service from Robein to Eastside will be availa= ble, along with a free lunch/supper meal.&= nbsp;

 

  1.   Parking will again be $4.00 p= er vehicle.

 

  1. ·        7th & 8th Grade Di= nner Dance on Saturday April 24th

    ·        School Improvement Day on Friday April 30th – introduction to PBIS

    ·        Spring Music Concert on Tuesday May 4th= at 6:30 p.m.

    ·        Science Fair on Thursday May 6th = in the evening

    ·        Athletic Awards Night on Tuesday May 18= th at 6:00 p.m.

     

    8.  COMMITTEE REPORTS   - none 

     

    9.  OLD BUSINESS AND INFORMATIONAL

         

          A.  First reading for calendar waivers= of MLK, Pulaski, Columbus, and Veteran’s Day   

          B.  Proposed PBIS discipline form for = next school year

          C.  RtI Powerpoint presentation will o= ccur during our May meeting

          D.  Class A State Track Meet on Friday= May 14th & Saturday May 15th – need helpers

    10.  NEW BUSINESS

     

    A.     Approv= e a Calendar Waiver Hearing on May 20, 2010 at 6:00 p.m.

       Motion by Newlan, seconded b= y Schwader to approve a Calendar Waiver Hearing on

       May 20, 2010 at 6:00 p.m.  Motion carried.

     

    B.     Approv= e the 2010-2011 school calendar. 

     

       Motion by Newlan, seconded b= y Potts to approve the 2010-2011 school calendar.&= nbsp;

       Motion carried.

     

    C.     Approv= e a new 2-year technology contract with Wendelin Consulting Group, Inc. with the same terms and prices as the past two years. 

     

       Motion by Klyber, seconded b= y Newlan to approve a new 2-year technology contract

       with Wendelin Consulting Gro= up, Inc. with the same terms and prices as the past two

     &n= bsp; years.  On roll call, t= he following votes were recorded:

     

    YEAS:            = Newlan, Potts, Schwader, Vangunten, Klyber, and Norvill

    NAYS: None

    ABSENT:        Pool

     

    11. OTHER BUSINESS  - none

     

    Motion by Sch= wader, seconded by Potts to enter into executive session at 7:11 p.m.  Motion carried

     

    12.  EXECUTIVE SESSION  -=   Student Discipline

     

    13.  ACTIONS AS A RESULT OF EXECUTIVE S= ESSION

     

    A.  Approve rental of = the school building to include only the gymnasium and multipurpose room with a deposit of $200.00 and a rate of $100.00 for two (2) hours maximum.    

     

    Motion by Klyber, seconded = by Schwader to approve rental of the school building to

    include only the gymnasium = and multipurpose room with a deposit of $200.00  and a rate

    of $100.00 for two (2) hours maximum.  On roll call, the following votes were recorded:

     

    YEAS:            = Potts, Schwader, Vangunten, Klyber, Newlan, and Norvill

    NAYS: None
