March 18, 2010

MINUTES

 

 

 

1.  CALL TO ORDER  - President Norvill called the meeting to order at 6:00 p.m.

 

2.  PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE

5.  APPROVAL OF MINUTES=

 

A.&n= bsp;    Approve minutes of the February 18, 2010 regular meeting.

 

Motion by Klyber, seconded = by Pool to approve the February 18, 2010 minutes of the regular meeting.  Motion carried.

 

B.&n= bsp;    Approv= e the executive session minutes of the Feb. 18, 2010 regular meeting.<= /b>

 

Motion by Potts, seconded b= y Newlan to approve the executive session minutes of the February 18, 2010 regular meeting.  Motion carried.

Motion by Schwader, seconde= d by Pool to approve the Consent Agenda as presented, with

further clarification of te= acher supervision costs.  On roll ca= ll, the following votes were

recorded:

7.  SUPERINTENDENT/PRINCIPAL  REPORT 

 

  1.   Team members will present the= ir information to faculty/staff at the April 30th School Improvement Day.
  2. ·        Volunteer Sign-up Sheet is posted on the sch= ool office window

    ·        Since we are sharing responsibilities with Riverview and St. Pat’s Schools, areas of need for volunteers are more distributed.

    ·        With parental approval, high school students will be able to assist on Friday.  Parents must make a call to EPCHS in order for the students to be excused.  Students need to con= tact Dr. Marx for work assignments.

    ·        ATS will be providing the shuttle bus service.  We will encourage our volunteers and others to use this service.

    ·        IESA has set the admission prices @ $8.00 for adults and $4.00 for senior citizens & students in grades K-8.  Parking will again be $4.00 per ve= hicle.

     

    8.  COMMITTEE REPORTS   - Mr. Newlan stated that more information regarding a school security system will be presented at a later time.  Mr. Klyber stated that electrical outlets in the computer office area may need to be increased/exp= anded. 

     

    9.  OLD BUSINESS AND INFORMATIONAL

         

          A.  Second reading of the 2010-2011 sc= hool calendar.   

          B.  Internal Quality Assurance Review - March 2010

          C.  First reading of registration fees= for 2010-2011

          D.  First reading of a 2-year technolo= gy contract with Wendelin Consulting Group

    10.  NEW BUSINESS

     

    A.     Approv= e to hold graduation on Thursday, May 27th at 7:00 p.m.

       Motion by Schwader, seconded= by Vangunten to approve to hold graduation on

       Thursday, May 27th at 7:00 p.m.  Motion carried.

     

    B.     Approv= e for the last day of school (Report Card Day) to be May 27, 2010. 

     

       Motion by Pool, seconded by = Klyber to approve for the last day of school (Report Card

       Day) to be May 27, 2010.  Motion carried.

     

    C.     Approv= e to release executive session minutes from March 2009 and earlier. 

     

       Motion by Potts, seconded by= Pool to approve to release executive session minutes from

       March 2009 and earlier.  Motion carried.

     

    D.    Approv= e to destroy audio/video tapes from June 2008 and earlier. 

     

     &n= bsp; Motion by Schwader, seconded by Potts to destroy audio/video tapes f= rom June 2008 and

       earlier.  Motion carried.

     

    11. OTHER BUSINESS 

     

    A.     Approv= e the mileage reimbursement rate @ $0.50 per mile. 

     

    Motion by Klyber, seconde= d by Newlan to approve the mileage reimbursement rate @ $0.50 per mile.  On roll call, the following votes = were recorded:

    A.  Approve the tenured status of Mrs. Kelly Bouris for the 2010-2011 school year. 

     

    Motion by Vangunten, second= ed by Newlan to approve the tenured status of Mrs. Kelly

    Bouris for the 2010-2011 sc= hool year.  On roll call, the follo= wing votes were recorded:

    NAYS: None

     

    B.  Approve the tenured status of Mr. Brian Kennedy for the 2010-2011 school year.

    L.  Approve to elimina= te the Rocket Extra program for the 2010-2011 school year. 

     

    Motion by Pool, seconded by Schwader to approve to eliminate the Rocket Extra program

    for the 2010-2011 school ye= ar.  On roll call, the following votes = were recorded:

    NAYS: Klyber, Newlan, and Vangunten

     

    M.  Approve to reduce = Board of Education travel to the Chi= cago Conference.
