MINUTES

 

 

1.  CALL TO ORDER  - Vice-President Schwader called t= he meeting to order at 6:00 p.m.

 

2.  ROLL CALL

 

Members present: &= nbsp; Mr. Klyber, Mr. Newlan, Mrs. Pool, Mrs. Potts, Ms. Schwader,

and Mrs. Vangunten

 

Members absent: &n= bsp; Mr. Norvill

 

Others present:  Channel 22 Representatives; Dr. Marx, Superintendent; Mrs. Garrison, Teacher; Mrs. Giunta, Teacher; Mrs. Heider, Teacher; Robert Finley, Getz Security Rep.; Victor Oggero, Seico Inc. Rep.; and Ron Shambaugh, SimplexGrinnell Rep.

Calendar Waiver or Modification of School Code:

 

= A.     School Board must adopt a resolution or approve a motion to waive eligible holiday= s

and the r= eason(s) for doing so.

= B.     Eligible holidays include:

·        Third Monday in January (ML King Birthday)

·        February 12 (Lincoln’s Birthday)

·        First Monday in March (Pulaski’s Birth= day)

·        Second Monday in October (Columbus Day)

·        November 11 (Veterans’ Day)

= C.     Reasons for waiving the holiday include:

·        Hold school (student attendance)

·        Schedule Teachers’ Institutes

·        Parent/Teacher Conferences

= D.     For each holiday that is waived the person or persons honored by the holiday are recognized through instructional activities conducted on that day or, if the day is not used for student attendance, on the first school day preceding or following that day.
