BOARD OF EDUCATION SPECIAL MEETING

MINUTES

 

 

1.  CALL TO ORDER  President Norvill called the m= eeting to order at 6:00 p.m.

 

2.  PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE

 

3.  ROLL CALL

 

Members present: &= nbsp; Mr. Norvill, Mrs. Potts, Ms. Schwader, Mrs. Taylor and

        =     Mrs. Vangunten

 

Members absent:  <= /span>Mr. Newlan and Mrs. Pool

 

Others present:  Dr. Marx, Superintendent

 

4.  OATH OF OFFICE FOR NEW BOARD MEMBE= R

 

Mr. Norvill administered th= e Oath of Office to Mrs. Tiffany Taylor.

 

5.  NEW BUSINESS

 

A.     Approv= e the employment of a part-time summer janitor for 7-8 weeks with a minimum wage of $10.50 p= er hour and work days to be determined by the superintendent.

Motion by Schwader, seconde= d by Potts to approve the employment of a part-time summer janitor for 7-8 weeks with a minimum wage of $10.50 per hour and work days to be determined by the superintendent.  On roll call,= the following votes were recorded:

 

YEAS:            = Taylor, Schwader, Potts, Vangunten, and Norvill

 

NAYS: None

 

ABSENT:  &n= bsp;     Newlan and Pool

 

B.      Approve a two-year extension to the current Transportation Services Agreement with District #309.

 

Motion by Schwader, seconde= d by Vangunten to approve a two-year extension to the current Transportation Services Agreement with District #309.  On roll call, the following votes were recorded:

 

YEAS:            = Schwader, Potts, Vangunten, Taylor, and Norvill

 

NAYS: None

 

ABSENT:  &n= bsp;     Newlan and Pool

 

 

6.  EXECUTIVE SESSION  -   employment of certified personnel

 

7.  ACTION ITEMS AS A RESULT OF EXECUT= IVE SESSION

 

A.      Approve to employ Brian S. Kennedy = as the 7th grade social science teacher  for the 2007-2008 school year.

 

Motion by Schwader, seconde= d by Taylor to approve = to employ Brian S. Kennedy as the 7th grade social science teacher = for the 2007-2008 school year.  On= roll call, the following votes were recorded:

 

YEAS:            = Potts, Vangunten, Taylor, Schwader, and Norvill

 

NAYS: None

 

ABSENT:        Newlan and Pool

 

   B.&n= bsp; Approve to employ Brandi Ulick as the 8th grade science teacher for the 2007-

         2008 school year.

 

Motion by Potts, seconded by Vangunten to approve to employ Brandi Ulick as the 8th grade sci= ence teacher for the 2007-2008 school year.&nbs= p; On roll call, the following votes were recorded:

 

YEAS:            = Vangunten, Taylor, Schwader, Potts, and Norvill

 

NAYS: None

 

ABSENT:        Newlan and Pool
