Board of Education Special Meeting

March 30, 2006

The meeting was called to order at 6:00 P.M. by Mr. Norvill.

MEMBERS PRESENT: Ms. Schwader, Mrs. Pool, Mrs. Potts, Mr. Newlan, and Mr.

        =             &nb= sp;            =         Norvill. Superintendent Peyton was also present.

MEMBERS ABSENT: Mr. Dearing and Mrs. Cunefare

Motion by Schwader, second by Pott= s to enter executive session to discuss student discipline. Motion voted. = Yeas-5, Nays-0. Motion carried= .

The board entered executive session at 6:02 P.M.

Motion by Newlan, second by Potts to return to open session. Motion carried. The board returned to open session= at 6:40 P.M.

Motion by Newlan, second by Potts to expel Student A for the remainder of the 2005-06 school = year. Th= e Board also made recommendation for the student to attend the Tazewell County Regi= onal Safe Schools program in Creve Coeur and approved the transportation necessa= ry to attend.

Motion Carried.

Motion by Potts, second by Pool to= enter executive session. Mot= ion carried.

The Board entered executive session at 6:02 P.M. to discuss employment of perso= nnel and contract negotiations.

Motion by Potts, second by Schwade= r to return to open session. Motion carried. The bo= ard returned to open session at = 7:04 P.M.

Motion by Schwader, second by Pott= s to authorize President Norvill to offer an employment contract to Dr. Katherine Marx as superintendent of District #85 effective July 1, 2006.

Motion by Potts, second by Pool to adjourn. Motion carrie= d.
